Jules C. Leffland House

Having seen numerous houses designed for various clients, we now see the attractive residence Jules Carl Leffland designed for himself and his family in 1900. With its two-¬≠story, eight-bay, elliptical porch, it demonstrates Leffland’s mastery of the Neoclassical Revival style. The house was sold in 1921 to Louis Hyak, a local grocer, in whose family it remained for many years. The current owner has substantially enlarged the structure, with additions to the east of the original house. NR-1991
